* Have started to read G.E. Moore's Principia Ethica. I read chapter three and absolutely loved it. He refutes Hedonism, Utilitarianism, and Egoism beautifully. He also points out Mill's ridiculous mistakes regarding hedonism. When I first read Mill I said to myself how can a philosopher so famous be so wrong and shallow.
- "to say that pleasure always causes us to want is quite a different thing from saying that what we want is always pleasure."
* Sometimes I think that at the end of it life can be very lonely, empty, meaningless, and cold. But then again when I see a painting by van Gogh, read a poem of Rumi, or look deeply into her sad eyes the flames of love melt the ice of life and bring light to the depth of my being.

Sometimes you see films and they are just important to you. 21 grams, punch-drunk love, life is beautiful, and Woody Allen movies have become important to me in every possible way. I love to watch them, I think about them, and as I look at my world I see my world through them. But there are also films and filmmakers that are important for my cinematic learning; like requiem for a dream, the bicycle thief, Godard, Kiarostami, Scorsese.
Yesterday, Godard turned 76...
